Pieter Bootsma returns as CEO of Royal FloraHolland on 1 July
June 18, 2026
Pieter Bootsma will return as CEO of FloraHolland (RFH) on 1 July following a period of recovery and gradual reintegration. Pieter will thus resume the leadership role from David van Mechelen, who has held this position on an interim basis over the past year. The Supervisory Board has taken this decision now that all health indicators are positive. David van Mechelen will resume his full responsibilities as CFO with effect from 1 July. This means RFH is parting ways with Anton Sandler, who has been fulfilling the CFO role on an interim basis recently.
Evert van Helvoort, Chairman of the Supervisory Board,: “I am delighted that, following a period of absence, Pieter is now set to resume his role as CEO in full and with renewed vigour. He has worked hard on his recovery recently and, as part of his return to work, has made a significant contribution to strategic growth initiatives. I would particularly like to thank David, who, during a difficult period for Pieter and RFH, has excellently fulfilled the CEO’s responsibilities and, together with Anton and the RFH Management Team, has managed to keep us on track with the roll-out of our Strategy 2030. The Supervisory Board is now looking forward to taking the next step for RFH, focused on ensuring the cooperative’s future viability and the international growth of the RFH platform.”
