Product committees
Royal FloraHolland is a cooperative of, for and by members. Our growers supply many different types of flowers and plants. There are therefore 27 Royal FloraHolland Product Committees (FPCs) for product-specific matters.
Each member can join one of these FPCs. Members share knowledge about their products with each other through the FPC. Based on that knowledge, they contribute to product-related matters within the cooperative. The FPC is the exclusive place for this.
An FPC consists of five to nine growers, a sponsor, a product manager and a supporter from RFH. The chairmanship is held by one of the growers. About four times a year, an FPC meets to discuss issues and challenges for the product group.
Tasks and responsibilities of the FPC
The FPC advises, serves as a sounding board and gives signals. Involvement in the implementation of decisions and the daily operations concerning the product group is also part of the FPC’s role.
Advising and communicating with the membership is an important task for the FPC. It does this, for example, through surveys, a product meeting, a theme meeting and/or a WhatsApp group. A product newsletter is published regularly.
FPC Core Team
The FPC Core Team is partly responsible for the effective and efficient performance of the FPC. This team includes several managers from Royal FloraHolland and FPC support staff. This team ensures a good connection between the FPC, the Members' Council and the company on strategic issues. It also assists the FPC with issues and following the correct processes.
FPC agreements and rules
Governance means: the way of managing. For a cooperative, some rules are laid down in law. Another part is determined by the cooperative itself. We agree on this together in the articles of association and regulations. Would you like to know what we agreed on about the FPCs?
