New Fc555 flower bucket receives an enthusiastic response
May 19, 2026
In early March this year, several gerbera (barberton daisy) suppliers began using the new reusable Fc555 flower bucket. Since then, more than 600,000 buckets of flowers have entered the supply chain and users are very enthusiastic. FM Group is one of the buyers that immediately started purchasing gerbera in Fc555 buckets. This is because this new flower bucket offers them many advantages. Read more about this below and find out what these advantages are; who knows, the Fc555 might be of interest to you too!
With this new reusable flower bucket, Royal FloraHolland is ensuring a significant reduction in supply chain costs. We are also reducing waste. The gerbera product group alone saves more than 250,000 kilos of cardboard per year by using the Fc555, as single-use cardboard collars are no longer required.
FM Group: Introduction of the Fc555 offers opportunities for numerous cut flowers
FM Group connects growers with florists, wholesalers and retailers worldwide. Leon Bonte (Purchasing Manager at FM Group and pictured) is delighted with the arrival of the new flower bucket and explains: “The Fc555 is a truly valuable introduction for us. At FM Group, we are very active in optimising load levels, improving efficiency and encouraging growers to continue seeking improvements. The Fc555 eliminates the need for support shelving and collars, which opens opportunities for a wide range of products. In addition to the efficiency gains we can achieve with the Fc555, this small, tall bucket also offers possibilities for more exclusive products where a smaller sales unit is preferred. So, in fact, this bucket offers benefits for multiple product groups, and that’s perfect.”
Phased roll-out
We have opted for a phased introduction by product group to ensure sufficient availability, even during busier periods. Use by product groups other than those approved is therefore not permitted.
Following the successful launch at gerbera aqua, we will be expanding the use of the Fc555 to include gerbera diamond from Monday 8 June. After that, the launch for Anjers (Carnations) is planned as the third product group. Are you also interested in using the Fc555? If so, please contact the Client Contact Centre.
