Announcement of non- and early auction days in 2026
November 5, 2025
From March through Whitsun is an important period for you as a grower and buyer, and therefore for us. We’ll do all we can to support you during this peak period. With additional efforts, we ensure the most predictable logistics service. This way, we will make the peak a success together.
During the peak, we start auctioning an hour earlier on the busiest days to ensure products are delivered within the desired timeframes. As a buyer, this means getting up an hour earlier to make your purchases on the clock. To handle the (expected) higher supply, we also adjust our delivery schedules on those days. This extra time makes it possible to meet the requested delivery times and chosen time slots. This provides certainty.
On the busiest days, high volumes make the agreed time slots challenging and push forecast end times later than usual. We want to prevent buyers from being affected by this. Starting the auction an hour earlier gives us extra time to process the volumes and complete deliveries within the agreed (forecast) end times and time slots, without end times running late into the afternoon. That provides certainty.
The early auction days in 2026 have been set for our hubs in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg*:
• Monday 4 May (Monday before Mother's Day)
• Tuesday 26 May (day after Pentecost and before French Mother's Day)
On these days, we will start one hour earlier. For flowers, this means starting the auction at 5 a.m. and for plants at 5.30 a.m. We will adjust the delivery times in advance on these days at our hubs in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg.
We always determine early auction days in consultation with the employees’ council. The agreement is that we can schedule up to four additional early auction days, for example if volumes and/or staff shortages rise rapidly or unexpectedly. In such cases, we will communicate this as soon as possible and at least three weeks in advance to the employees’ council, buyers, growers and employees.
King's Day and Whit Monday
In 2026, both King's Day and Whit Monday fall on a Monday. We are therefore exploring options for the delivery of day trade and auction presales trading around these days. We’ll share more details at a later date.
As in previous years, our priority on non-auction days is to provide reliable logistics services (especially for handling direct trade and logistics resources) for suppliers and customers.
On the page 'early and non-auction days', you will find an overview of all current non-auction and early auction days.
Let’s peak.
*These days do not apply to the Eelde hub.
