Quality Index

Reliable supply information is important in a world that is rapidly becoming more digital. Buyers want to be able to rely on what is delivered. The Quality Index helps with this.

Why is a Quality Index necessary?

Reliable supply information is the basis for a good relationship between growers and buyers. Almost half (46%) of growers currently supply reliably. The Quality Index (QI) shows the reliability of supply information for each grower, such as the photo, inspection and grading characteristics. The index shows the percentage of lots that are supplied without error. As a grower, you achieve a reliability score of A (high), B (medium), or C (low). The Quality Index is a aid for buyers in the selection of lots of flowers and plants.

Score calculation

The percentage of lots supplied without error is based on the number of discrepancies noted in the supply information provided by growers for auction lots in the past 62 weeks. Growers are awarded a score of A, B, or C based on the percentage of lots supplied without error.

Various levies

Growers with a C-score supply 6% of the supply, but account for 34% of all complaints. They therefore pay a higher levy than A and B growers do in the event that incomplete or inaccurate supply information is discovered. We would be happy to explain how this works.
