Mirjam van der Meer and Leo de Vries have been appointed as members of the Supervisory Board of Royal FloraHolland (RFH), the leading international cooperative for flowers and plants, with effect from 1 January 2026. The Supervisory Board appointments follow a decision by the Royal FloraHolland Members' Council. In addition, Anton Sandler has been appointed interim Chief Financial Officer.

Mirjam van der Meer is the owner of Cactus farm van der Meer BV in 's-Gravenzande and the trading company MEER Groothandel BV in Honselersdijk. This combination brings with her an interesting mix of practical knowledge and experience in the floriculture chain. Mirjam has also been a member of the RFH Members' Council and chair of the Cooperative Committee for several years.

Leo de Vries has been associated with the horticultural company KP Holland in Naaldwijk since 2000 and has served as its managing director since 2021. He brings extensive management experience from this international organisation with farms and breeding. Since 2023, he has been chairman of Plantform, an interest group of pot plant growers focused on digitisation and artificial intelligence.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Evert van Helvoort, on the appointments:
"I am delighted to welcome Mirjam and Leo to the Supervisory Board of Royal FloraHolland, thereby filling all vacant positions on the Supervisory Board. With her knowledge of and network in the pot plant sector, Mirjam will add significant value to the Supervisory Board. Leo's marketing and sales experience will also enable him to make a valuable contribution to the commercial side of Floriday and other services. Both are genuine connectors and are a good fit for the cooperative. With the previously announced arrival of Peter Bommel, the Supervisory Board will enter the new year fully staffed.
As a token of appreciation for their many years of dedication and valuable contribution to the Supervisory Board, the diamond pin was awarded this week to outgoing non-executives Rosaline Zuurbier and Pascal Visée.

Executive Board
Anton Sandler has been appointed interim Chief Financial Officer. He will join the RFH executive board at the beginning of January. Anton is a highly experienced executive who, among other things, worked for many years as CFO at Deloitte.

This interim role has arisen because CFO David van Mechelen has been acting as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since the summer, after Pieter Bootsma stepped down for health reasons. His recovery is now progressing so well that he will be able to return gradually, step by step, at the beginning of 2026.

Evert van Helvoort on this reinforcement of the executive board:
‘I am delighted that, following the departure of Hendrik Jan Roel, we can welcome an excellent new interim CFO so quickly. With Anton's arrival, we are bringing in a strong leader and, above all, ensuring stability and continuity in the executive board, so that David can continue to focus fully on his role as acting CEO and Pieter can gradually reintegrate.’

The Employees' Council has been consulted, and the Members' Council has been informed about this temporary appointment.
