Standing strong together during the Members' Council meeting
September 23, 2025

A Members' Council meeting was held on Thursday, September 18. In addition to the Members' Council members, the executive board and the chair and vice-chair of the Supervisory Board were also present. During these meetings, the Members' Council takes the time to discuss a number of current topics in more detail.
In the morning, Marcel van der Lugt, chair of the members' council, held a meeting with the members' council to discuss, among other things, signals received from members. After that, Evert van Helvoort, chair of the Supervisory Board, briefly took the floor to inform the council about the temporary changes in management.
David van Mechelen then gave a brief overview of the state of affairs at the company on various topics, such as finances, the advance announcements of indicative rates (final rates will be set on December 11), and a look ahead to 2026. In the afternoon, there was a substantive discussion about the rate system and possible changes to it.
The various components were discussed in groups. These were good discussions with valuable input that the company can use to move forward. In this way, the members' council advises the company in the process of developing a new rate model that is expected to apply from 2027 and will do even more justice to the different varieties of growers.
Under the banner of ‘Strengthening the cooperative’, a new cooperative campaign has been launched: ‘Together we are strong’. What connects us now and why are we members of the cooperative? In the coming period, we will continue to explore this with members during the Member Sessions and the Cooperative day. See this page for more information.
An informal Members' Council meeting will be held on October 9. We will discuss a number of topics in more detail, such as the Code of Conduct and the role of Royal FloraHolland in Public Affairs.
