Extra early auction day on Wednesday, 25 June
May 21, 2025

Due to the NATO summit, which will take place in The Hague on 24 and 25 June, Wednesday 25 June will be an extra early auction day. This means that the auction at our hubs in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg will start one hour earlier on that day.
The NATO summit will have a major impact on Wednesday 25 June, mainly due to road closures. We have therefore decided to start auctioning one hour earlier. For flowers, this means that auctioning will start at 5 a.m., and for plants at 5.30 a.m. This will enable customers and their collective transporters to get the products they have purchased to their destination as quickly as possible.
Measures
The road closures will lead to extra traffic and delays. This is a challenge for the entire sector. Royal FloraHolland cannot eliminate these problems, but has discussed potential measures with growers, buyers and collective transporters to limit the inconvenience as much as possible.
One of the measures Royal FloraHolland is taking is to schedule an additional early auction day. All hubs will be open as usual every day. Our goal is to keep daily operations running as normally as possible.
The Works Council
We always consult with the Works Council (OR) when determining early auction days. The agreement is that, in addition to the two days determined in the autumn, we may schedule a maximum of four additional early auction days. For example, if volumes and/or staff shortages increase rapidly or unexpectedly. On the page “early and non-auction days”, you will find an overview of all current non-auction and early auction days.
