Help keep our platform digitally secure. Work with a rock-solid password!
January 31, 2024
1 February has been declared 'Change-Your-Password-Day'. That's why, especially today, we are paying extra attention to one of the most important parts of keeping our information and systems secure: the password.
Royal FloraHolland wants to offer users a secure digital platform. This is why we invest in an environment that can withstand attacks by cybercriminals and why we are one of the initiators of the Cyber Resilience Centre Greenport. But in addition to the measures around our systems, it helps enormously if you yourself also work digitally safely, for example by working with a rock-solid password.
Make sure you have a cast-iron password
With a cast-iron password, you increase your digital security and help to increase cyber resilience within Royal FloraHolland. Passwords are regularly the weak spot of cybersecurity within an organisation.

With these tips, you can ensure a rock-solid password:
- Keep a unique and strong password for each account. Make it a password phrase, for example. A phrase is easy to remember. Use upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols and avoid easily guessable information.
- Change passwords on a regular basis: at least once a year. To make sure you have the right password ready for each account, use a Password Manager.
- Use two-factor authentication (2-FA) on platforms that offer it. With 2FA, you add a second layer of protection to your account. This means that in addition to entering a username and password, you need a code via your phone to log in. This increases the security of your account.
- Don't use each other's account. Floriday users we recommend that each person within a company has their own account with their own passwords. In Floriday, you can assign a role to each user account. For example, as the main user, you can activate 2-FA for your colleagues. And that reduces the chance of misuse and unintentional errors, making the platform more digitally secure. From February, Floriday will also increase password complexity on the platform. Users will then be asked by email to change their password once a year. If users don't want to, they can set up 2FA. In that case, changing passwords is not necessary.
- Did you know that there are also more and more places where you don't need to use a password? Because you can use passkeys in more and more places. Passkeys are easier to use and allow you to log in quickly and much more securely. Passkeys are based on standards. Unlike passwords, these passkeys are always strong and resistant to phishing. Passkeys can also be stored in a password manager.
