Pilot launched multi transaction auctioning
July 4, 2024
Every day we work to improve and make selling and buying on our Royal FloraHolland platform as easy as possible. New developments also offer new opportunities. One example is multi transaction auctioning. We are therefore starting a pilot on auction clock C08.
Benefits in pilot studies
Our starting point is to simplify dealmaking as much as possible. The wish of many growers and buyers is to make the auction duration shorter. Price stability is also an important focal point. In the pilot we will investigate whether multi transaction auctioning also offers these benefits and whether it offers new opportunities for Central Auctioning and the logistics process.
Pilot launch 4 July
This morning the pilot multi transaction auctioning (MTA) started on central rose clock C08 with auction group 170. Next week, in consultation with FPC Rose, this may be extended to all auction groups on C08. The pilot will last for 3 months. We chose this clock because it is a central clock where auctioning is generally longer. In addition, the results on this clock compare well with the results on the other central rose clocks.
Evaluation
We take our time for a thorough research period. That is why the pilot will last for 3 months. The auctioneers monitor the results on a daily basis using various reports so that we can make adjustments if needed. In early October, we will evaluate the results of the pilot. All feedback and learning points collected will be taken into account in our decision-making on whether or not to introduce multi-transaction auctioning on a broad scale. It will give us insight into whether we do so, in what time frame and in what way we can best do so.
