For Royal FloraHolland, sustainability is an important foundation. By becoming more sustainable, we prepare our cooperative for the future. Royal FloraHolland is actively committed to this and wants to play a leading role. That is why we encourage more sustainability among our growers and in the floriculture chain in general.

Consumers increasingly demand demonstrably sustainable flowers and plants. The European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires large companies to report on their impact on people and the environment. So it is important to be transparent about how sustainably your product has been produced. A certificate gives an insight into this, but sustainability goes much further than just certification. With the stories from the 'Growing greener together' section, we would like to inspire you to take the next step in becoming more sustainable, so that we grow greener together.

In the video below, Edwin van der Eijk, commercial manager at VDE Plant, explains how they take steps towards sustainability every year and why they think this is important. VDE Plant is transparent to the market about how the company's 40 varieties of indoor plants are grown. Such transparency is becoming increasingly important, Edwin points out.
