Finalists International Grower of the Year award known!

Gold Rose winnaars IGOTY 2023 Royal Flora Holland
The International Grower of the Year election is coming up again. Last week, AIPH announced the finalists. And that means exciting times ahead for all the contenders, all of whom excel in outstanding achievements and whose expertise is a great calling card for global floriculture.

The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) is organising the IGOTY-2024 awards together with FloraCulture International. The festive award ceremony will take place on 23 January 2024 during IPM Essen.

Chance in different categories
 AIPH presents awards in four categories:

  • Finished plants and trees
  • young plants
  • cut flowers and bulbs
  • sustainability

Contenders

The following finalists stand a chance of winning an award:

  • Beyond Chrysanthemum (Netherlands), leader at Royal FloraHolland
  • Fitoralia (Spain)
  • Greenwood Plants (UK)
  • Guangzhou Flower Research Center (China)
  • Huverba BV (Netherlands), buyer at Veiling Rhein-Maas
  • Kwekerij Dirk Mermans (Belgium), member buyer at Royal FloraHolland
  • Sjaak van Schie B.V. / Jacobus van Schie, Unip. Lda. (Netherlands/Portugal), member-captain of Royal FloraHolland
  • Yunnan Shining Flora Co., Ltd. (China)
  • Yunnan Yunxiu Flower Co., Ltd. (China)

We congratulate all nominees on their well-deserved final place! And are of course also proud that there are a number of (member) captains of Royal FloraHolland in this list! More on that later.


Programme

Besides the ceremony and presentation of the awards, this year's programme also includes a conference, inspiring speakers and a panel session with previous IGOTY winners.

  • Ynzo van Zanten, is one of the keynote speakers. An experienced entrepreneur who gained a lot of experience at well-known brands such as Tony's Chocolonely and Innocent Drinks. He is widely recognised for his views on current economic and social trends. In his presentation, he talks about how he balances financial success with the social impact of that success.
  • Ed Smit and Renee Snijders of Jungle Talks talk to a panel of previous IGOTY winners about what made the companies of these previous winners so successful and what these entrepreneurs find important.
  • Mr Plant Geek, aka Michael Perry is master of ceremonies during the event.
