During the award ceremony for the men's team of Handball club Aalsmeer (HVA), it was announced that Royal FloraHolland will become the new main sponsor of the national champions. With the official signing of the sponsorship contract at the award ceremony in Aalsmeer Town Hall, the partnership for the coming years has been confirmed. From 1 July 2025, the club will proudly bear a new name: Royal FloraHolland HV Aalsmeer.

Royal FloraHolland has committed itself to being the name sponsor of the nationally successful handball club for a period of three years. As the world's largest platform for the trade in flowers and plants, Royal FloraHolland considers it important to be involved in the local community, which is why this new sponsorship is an important milestone for the organisation. The strong ties between the handball club and the community of growers make this partnership a logical and valuable step. In the other regions where the organisation is active, opportunities to increase local involvement are currently being explored. Mayor Gido Oude Kotte of Aalsmeer also expressed his appreciation for the partnership, which he believes will contribute to strengthening social cohesion in the region.

"We are proud of this partnership with a club that plays such an important role in Aalsmeer and the surrounding area. We felt it was important to work with a club with which we have a lot in common, and the club Aalsmeer is an excellent fit. The Netherlands' international reputation in the field of flowers and plants is largely thanks to the people from this region and this association. With this sponsorship, we want to reinforce the pride and connection with floriculture that the people in the Aalsmeer area demonstrate. We wish Royal FloraHolland HV Aalsmeer every success in the coming season and look forward to following the matches!," said Pieter Bootsma, CEO of Royal FloraHolland.

Mark van der Ban, chairman of Handbalvereniging Aalsmeer, is also delighted with this new partnership: "We are very proud that HV Aalsmeer has succeeded in securing Royal FloraHolland, an internationally important player in the floriculture sector. HV Aalsmeer has a rich history in floriculture, with many members and spectators who have a background in flowers and plants. We are very much looking forward to the continuation of this future-proof partnership."

With its renewed sponsorship policy, Royal FloraHolland is actively working to strengthen its ties with the municipalities of its hubs.
