In November, we will start auctioning roses centrally and expand clock C06 to include Rijnsburg. To minimise the impact for buyers while limiting risk, we will do this in 4 steps:
  • 2 November - Adjust (equalise) auction groups
  • 16 November - C06 is supplemented with supply from Rijnsbrug
  • 23 November - Start of rose auction clock C07 with (only) auction group 200
  • 30 November - All roses auctioned via central clocks

Innovating at auctions
To be and remain the leading international floriculture marketplace, we have to stay ahead. That is why we invest every day in 'easy trading' by making the buying process on the clock, and thus auctioning, more efficient and clearer. Above all, we want to always offer easy access to the widest and deepest range of flowers and plants. Expanding the central clocks contributes to this. It is the next step towards maximum concentration of supply and demand at one central auction with the aim of optimising prices.

Step 1 adjusting auction groups
We first adjust the auction groups as of 2 November. All local rose clocks will start using the same auction group numbers. The auction group numbers of the Rijnsburg products that will be auctioned on C06 from 16 November will also be aligned. Adjusting the auction groups in advance gives peace of mind in the follow-up process. For buyers, this means adjusting settings in KOA. Hauliers have to fill in different auction group numbers on the delivery letter. These changes must be implemented before the auction on 2 November. You can view the new auction group numbers here.

Continue to supply as you do now
Even with centralised auctioning, your roses can be bought at any hub as you are used to. It is therefore important to continue to supply your products to each hub. For buyers, it is and remains important to have their purchases delivered quickly at the lowest possible cost. We need to avoid unnecessary transport movements between our hubs, which is the most efficient and sustainable way.

Transition period
"Because we are going live in phases with these extensions to central auctioning, we do have to take into account that we are in a transition period in November," said Erik Wassenaar, auctioneer roses. "We are focusing on finalising all changes before the beginning of December. What buyers and growers themselves can influence is the timely and correct adjustment of their KOA and EAB settings."
