Always give in advance notice of packaging transactions: mandatory from 1 October 2026

August 20, 2026

100 Fust Online

At Royal FloraHolland, we are constantly working to improve our logistics processes. A key part of this is always giving advance digital notice of packaging collections and returns via Packaging Online, TrackOnline or through an integration with a TMS. This is our standard procedure and an important part of a smooth, fast and reliable packaging process.

To give customers the opportunity to adapt their processes, we have provided time, flexibility and support over the past period to help them implement digital advance notices. The time has now come to fully and consistently adopt this way of working.

What are we going to do and why?

Within our processes, 100% digital advance notice of packaging transactions is the standard. This means that any packaging you return or collect must be announced digitally in advance via Packaging Online, TrackOnline, or via an integration with your Transport Management System (TMS). This makes the process clearer, more predictable, and easier to manage for everyone.

It is important to emphasise that an advance notice is not an order and does not guarantee that packaging is available. The purpose of the advance notice is to ensure the correct, fast and digital processing of packaging collections and returns.

Deadline: 1 October 2026

Starting 1 October 2026, we expect all packaging transactions to be announced digitally in advance. From this date onwards, we will actively enforce compliance with this procedure. This means that packaging that has not been announced digitally in advance will no longer be accepted or issued: the transaction will be refused.

Benefits of advance notification

Advance notification of packaging offers several concrete benefits for you as a customer:

  • Faster processing at the depot: your details are known in advance, which speeds up processing.
  • Reduced risk of errors: as information is already recorded digitally, we minimise errors and any subsequent corrective work.
  • Greater insight and transparency: you can easily view and track your transactions.
  • Reliable and secure process: Advance notification helps prevent misuse of customer numbers and ensures better control over transactions.

It also helps us, as Royal FloraHolland, to organise the logistics process more efficiently and further improve the quality of our services.

What does this mean for you?

Do you already use digital advance notifications? Then nothing will change and you can continue working as usual. If you do not yet use digital notifications, make sure you have this set up by 1 October 2026. Starting 1 September 2026, we’ll be actively encouraging compliance, and enforcement will begin on 1 October 2026.
