The Supervisory Board of Royal FloraHolland (RFH) announces that Hendrik Jan Roel, who took up the position of interim CFO this autumn, will be leaving at the beginning of 2026 to join Jumbo Supermarkets, where he has accepted a permanent position. The temporary CFO position arose from the appointment of CFO David van Mechelen as interim CEO, following CEO Pieter Bootsma's forced leave due to illness. Pieter Bootsma's recovery is now progressing so well that he will gradually return to work from January 2026.

Evert van Helvoort, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: ‘The arrival of a temporary CFO has enabled David to focus on the tasks within the CEO portfolio in recent months. Now that Hendrik Jan's dream job has come along, we wish him every success in it.’

David van Mechelen will continue to fulfil the role of acting CEO until further notice. In the meantime, the Supervisory Board is working on a temporary solution to the situation that has arisen following Hendrik Jan's departure. The priority remains the execution of Strategy 2030, alongside ensuring the continuity and stability of RFH's management.

Evert van Helvoort: ‘I am delighted that Pieter Bootsma's health is improving to such an extent that he will be able to return to RFH gradually and step by step from January 2026.’

The RFH Members' Council and the Employees' Council have been informed.
