Announcement non & early auction days 2025
October 30, 2024
During the peak, we auction an hour earlier on the busiest days to deliver the products within the desired times. As a buyer, you have to get up an hour earlier to make your purchases on the clock. To accommodate the (expected) higher supply, we also adjust our supply times on those days. The time savings make the desired delivery times and delivery within the chosen time slots feasible. This gives certainty.
Supply of high volumes on the busiest days makes the agreed time slots a challenge and the forecast end times later than usual. We want to avoid buyers getting squeezed as a result. Starting the auction an hour earlier gives us extra time to process the volumes and deliver within the agreed (forecast) end time(s), without end times running late into the afternoon. This gives certainty.
For our hubs Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg*, early auction days in 2025 have been determined:
- Monday 5 May (Monday before Mother's Day)
- Tuesday 10 June (day after Whitsun)
On these days, we start one hour earlier. For flowers, this means starting the auction at 05:00 and for plants at 05:30. We adjust the supply times prior to this day at our hubs Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg.
We always determine early auction days in consultation with the Works Council. The agreement is that we may use a maximum of 4 additional early auction days, for instance if volumes and/or staff shortages increase rapidly/unexpectedly. In that case, we communicate this as soon as possible and at least 3 weeks in advance to the Works Council, buyers, growers and employees. An overview of all current non- and early auction days can be found on the 'early and non-auction days ’ page.
Let's peak!
*These days do not apply to the Eelde hub
