From 31 January 2024, phytosanitary certificates will be required for the export of five species of cut flowers to the UK. These are: cut orchids, Dendranthema, Dianthus, Gypsophila and Solidago. The postponement is for three months. The previous effective date was 31 October 2023.

The start date for physical checks at the border for the above cut flowers has also been postponed. The introduction of physical checks and risk-based identification will now start on 30 April 2024. The original date was 31 January 2024. In addition, the physical inspection of medium risk products (named cut flowers) will be moved to border control points.
