When trading directly via Floriday: Connect-EAB is no longer needed and no service charge

March 22, 2023

Floriday Direct levering Serviceheffing
We are working with Royal FloraHolland to create a future-proof marketplace for the floriculture sector. We therefore want to make trading through Floriday as attractive as possible. And in our path of further digitalisation, we are gradually saying goodbye to technologies and services that no longer meet current technical standards. From 1 July 2023, there will be two changes for this reason for growers and buyers trading directly with eachother. Buyers will not be charged a service charge if they place the order through Floriday and growers will be encouraged to settle all direct trade through Floriday, making the Connect-EAB unnecessary.

What does this mean for growers?

Before the end of April, software packages will offer the option of handling direct delivery via Floriday. This eliminates the need to send a Connect-EAB. This is because the Connect-EAB is not resilient to future developments needed for digital business. From 1 July, growers will pay a fee if they still use the Connect-EAB. We use this fee to cover the costs associated with maintaining the system for using the Connect-EAB. Growers who used the Connect EAB in 2022 have since been informed in writing about the tariff.

To avoid incurring charges after 1 July, we advise you to settle direct trades via Floriday before then. If you no longer send Connect-EABs via your software package or if you already handle everything via Floriday's screens, there will be no charge.

What does this mean for buyers?

From 1 July 2023, there will be no service charge for any transaction where the buyer places the order through Floriday (in-screen, via the Floriday API link, VMP link, FloraMondo or FloraXchange). This means that the buyer orders on the supply in/via Floriday. To avoid the service charge, the grower must also handle the order through Floriday. Purchasing by e-mail, Whatsapp, by phone, through a direct VMP/Florecom with grower or webshop, remains possible. These orders do remain subject to the service charge. The service charge also remains applicable in case of a direct order created by the grower.

How do you recognise orders properly placed through Floriday by the buyer and handled by the grower? In the Floriday screens, you can see this in your purchase orders, per transaction icons indicate via which route you ordered.
