Agreement on Future-Proof Crop Protection Signed
July 14, 2026
On 14 July, the Agreement on Future-Proof Crop Protection was signed. Royal FloraHolland is participating in this initiative through Greenports Nederland. By signing this framework agreement, the parties have agreed to continue collaborating to develop future arrangements for crop protection. The details will be set out in sector-specific sub-agreements.
In the run-up to the signing, Royal FloraHolland actively sought dialogue with its members. Members participated in a Greenports Nederland webinar on the main points of the agreement. In addition, Royal FloraHolland held discussions with a delegation of members on the agreement's content and its potential implications for the floriculture sector. The input from these discussions was taken into account in Royal FloraHolland’s decision to remain involved in the agreement process via Greenports Nederland.
For Royal FloraHolland, three points are of particular importance in the next phase of the process:
- maintaining the competitive position of the Dutch floriculture sector and the international marketplace;
- a clear role and responsibility for market and supply chain parties;
- sufficient framework conditions for businesses, such as available alternatives, innovation, financing and a level playing field.
We will remain actively involved in the further development of the agreement through Greenports Nederland and will continue to represent the interests of the floriculture sector. We will keep you informed of the next steps via our communication channels.
