Flower love

Every year, hundreds of thousands of Dutch people buy bunches of flowers for their loved ones. Flower growers feel that love too: they work hard every day to grow the most beautiful flowers. And that is precisely why they deserve to be put in the spotlight.

Why the Flower love campaign?

Flowers and plants have great social value. We can use them to surprise others or enjoy their beautiful colours, shapes and scents ourselves. Flowers and plants are also very important to us economically. The Netherlands is a global leader in the production, trade and logistics of flowers and plants.

With the Bloemenliefde (Flower Love) campaign, we are joining forces with the Royal Association of Florists (VWB) and Plantion to put growers in the spotlight. Because they also feel the value that a bouquet has for you. Every day, they are ready to grow the most beautiful flowers. With care, dedication and passion for their profession.

For Valentine's Day, a number of growers wrote a short love letter to their own flower. In this way, they show that the gift you give to your loved one is made with love.

Questions about Flower love

Why are you launching the Flower love campaign?

With the Flower love campaign, we want to positively influence people's feelings about flowers. We show how great the emotional value of flowers is, both for consumers and growers, and that a beautiful bouquet of flowers is indispensable in our society.

When does the campaign run from and to?

We will launch the campaign around Valentine's Day and also want to spread the love of flowers on other important days (such as International Women's Day and Mother's Day).

How is sustainability reflected in your campaign?

Sustainability is an important theme for us. Growers are committed to growing their products as sustainably as possible in various ways. This is also reflected in the stories they tell us about their love of flowers. Want to know more and read some examples? Take a look at the Impactmakers page.

Do you collaborate with other parties?

The Koninklijke Vereniging Bloemisten en Winkeliers (VBW) and Plantion are also participating in the Flower love campaign.
