Logistics performed well on first early auction day
13 April 2018
Improving the daily service provision is one of the three priorities of Royal FloraHolland. To be able to deliver on time on peak days, Royal FloraHolland started auctioning flowers one hour earlier on Tuesday, 3 April 2018. The results obtained on that day were significantly better compared to the day after Easter in 2017 (April 18).
On Tuesday, 3 April 2018, the flower auction started at 05:00. In total in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg, we processed around 9,000 more transactions than on the day after Easter last year. Despite this increase in transactions, we still managed to achieve good end times. The number of orders delivered on time into boxes - the handling time expressed in percentages - improved greatly at each location.
The overview given below presents the results achieved on Tuesday, 3 April 2018, compared to the day after Easter in 2017 (April 18).
Yme Pasma, "These are great results."
Yme Pasma (COO Royal FloraHolland) spoke about the improved logistic performance. "We work hard on improving our daily service provision to support our customers to the best of our ability. These are great results that we can be proud of. Of course, we shall try to be even better during the coming early auction days."
