Easier and cheaper purchasing via FloraMondo produces increase in Direct Sales17 February 2017
On 1 January 2017 Royal FloraHolland implemented a rate change. Following on from FloraMondo Auction Presales, the rate for the marketing channel Direct Sales was also reduced to zero. This produced a sharp increase in actively purchasing buyers on FloraMondo in the first four weeks of 2017.
Although 2017 has only just started, we can already say that making FloraMondo Direct Sales free has led to an enormous increase in digital purchasing. In all of 2016 the number of active buyers in the Direct Sales part of FloraMondo was 81 per week. In the first 4 weeks of 2017, it rose to 120 buyers per week, a growth of 40%! The Auction Presales part was already free. In 2016 we saw there an increase from 200 to 300 active buyers per week, with an average of 270. Since then, the number of active buyers using Auction Presales has risen to 350 per week.
Digital trade via FloraMondo is becoming increasingly popular. The Valentine's Day period is always busy, but this year all of the records on the digital trade platform of Royal FloraHolland were broken. Week 6 of 2017 registered a new week record of turnover: almost €6 million. The previous record of €4.1 million was set in 2016.
