Today, the four initiators of ‘Stop mandatory FSI certification’, Pieter Damen, Sjaak van der Ploeg, Lex van Zwet, and Paul Koenraadt, submitted their objections, to Royal FloraHolland CEO a.i. David van Mechelen. The objection is primarily directed against the obligation to certify according to the requirements of the Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI).

Almost two years ago, RFH announced that all members and suppliers would have to be certified by January 1 of this year, with the exception of members in the member pack Auction focus, for whom the effective date is July 1, 2027. The presentation took place during a respectful and constructive meeting at Royal FloraHolland in Aalsmeer, in which both parties listened carefully to each other. The next step is for RFH to use this handover to further examine and assess the concerns raised. Once that phase has been completed, a follow-up meeting will be scheduled.
