Knowledge sessions at the Flora Spring Expo 18 & 19 March

The Flora Spring Expo on 18 and 19 March in Aalsmeer is not just about the latest spring assortment and valuable meetings between growers and (international) buyers. Both days of the expo also offer a varied programme with free knowledge sessions on current topics in the sector. These sessions provide visitors – from retailers and buyers to exporters, growers and other professionals – with insights that can be directly applied to their daily practice.

A selection of the sessions offered during the Flora Spring Expo on Wednesday 18 March:

• 10:00 – 10:45 | Retail trends – Developments in sales channels and vision for the future

  Speaker: Erik Meijs, Retail Services, Royal FloraHolland

  What does the future of retail look like for flowers and plants? You will hear how you can respond to changes in sales channels and what opportunities lie ahead. An inspiring story will give you a fresh perspective on the retail channels of the future.

   

• 11:15 – 12:00 | Cybersecurity in the floriculture chain

  Speaker: Bas Weers, Chief Information Security Officer, Royal FloraHolland

  Digitisation offers opportunities, but also creates growing risks in the area of cybersecurity. During this session, you will gain insight into current threats such as data leaks, phishing and system vulnerabilities.

   

• 13:30 – 14:15 | Resilient floriculture sector – Undermining: Look at your business with different eyes

  Speakers: Panel of security experts

  The floriculture sector is vulnerable to criminal interference. In this session, security experts will show how undermining can occur within companies in the sector and which signs often go unnoticed. Using recognisable practical examples, you will gain insight into how to recognise risks in a timely manner, what you can do as an entrepreneur and how to create a safe, ethical working environment. Together, we will increase the resilience of the sector
