Sector Platform discusses Floriday progress and industry developments

At the end of September, growers, exporters and Floriday met at the third Sector Platform consultation. The aim of the consultation was to make the sector more transparent, reliable and digital. Topics included Floriday functionalities, sustainable data standards and the Packaging Register.

From 1 January 2026, for some product groups (plants, roses, chrysanthemums), only FSI-certified supply may be purchased. Floriday is developing functionalities that make it easier for buyers to filter for this, both at product and organisation level.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) coming soon
To further protect your data, Floriday is introducing multi factor authentication (MFA) for all user accounts early next year. By doing so, we increase the security of your data and strengthen the reliability of the platform and the whole industry. This is in line with what Chief Information Officer André van der Linden and Chief Information Security Officer Bas Wevers explained earlier in an interview about the importance of digital security within floriculture.

Packaging register supports exporters
The Packaging Register, a digital overview of all packaging used in floriculture, is technically ready and must now be populated by packaging suppliers. This register replaces exporters' (often error-prone) Excel lists and reduces administrative pressure on both growers and buyers. The Sector Platform encourages packaging suppliers to register more quickly, so that the entire sector can benefit.

Sharing sustainability data better
With Floripef-CR, a standard is being created to make sustainability data available at item level. This helps in understanding the validity, confidentiality and presentation of the data, among other things, so that it can be shared more reliably and widely in the supply chain. In time, we also want to make this information available through Floriday, so that all users can access it directly.
