As a result of all the changes in the market, such as the shift from auction sales to direct sales, our objective of 'optimal pricing at minimal cost' has come under pressure.
Growers and buyers are offered smart solutions and thus opportunities for growth, because we have organised the floriculture chain as efficiently as possible.
The changing market calls for a change in business model. Added value for growers and their buyers is the focus. Since January , a core team has been working on a new business model for propositions and rates under the name Astrum.
We are expanding our core services with new services. In line with the 'ordering, payment and delivery' structure, a new rates model is also being set up. Together, we are working towards an integrated model, in which membership, propositions and rates are all interlinked in a logical way. For that reason, Project Astrum is inextricably linked to the Membership project.
The concept and the new rates model are tested, fine-tuned and refined together with growers and buyers.
Members of the cooperative are involved in Project Astrum in the form of a Sounding Board Group with the aim of testing the new proposition and rates model as part of the Astrum project. The previously established Membership Leading Team was replaced by the Astrum Sounding Board Group, in which a number of participants from the Membership Leading Team joined the Sounding Board Group. This in order to ensure commitment to knowledge and skills.
In the first phase, the Sounding Board Group was informed and consulted on a number of specific principles. The Sounding Board Group will subsequently be involved in the follow-up steps and further preparations, after which the result will be coordinated with growers and buyers in order to reach a decision scheduled for the end of 2021.
