Market update Wednesday 30 December 2020
30 December 2020
Over the past few weeks we have regularly provided you with a market update containing the impact of the corona crisis on the Dutch and international floriculture market. This week we see no immediate reason to send a market update, but in this news item you will find more information about the market situation this week.
Market information week 53
On Monday 28 December, the number of units sold on the clock was 17.5% lower than last year (Monday 30 December). In 2019, Tuesday and Wednesday were in week 53 New Year's Day, so no further comparison is possible.
On average, the average price on the clock this week (Monday to Wednesday) was 25 cents. This is slightly lower compared to the same week last year (Monday 30 December), when it was 27 cents. The percentage of unsold products this week is 3.1%.
Market developments international
We have included the most important international market developments in a report. This report (PDF) provides an update on flower and plant sales in: Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Kenya, Ethiopia and Israel. It is indicated how long a lockdown per country takes and what effect this (possibly) has on the floriculture sales outlets. This report contains information, as known on Tuesday 22 December 05.00 p.m.
Although this report has been compiled with the greatest care, it is possible that the current situation in a particular country or region may differ from what is shown here. No rights can be derived from this report.
