Growers and buyers receive confirmation leniency period 100% Digital
23 December 2020
Together with growers, agents, buyers and software suppliers, Royal FloraHolland is working hard this year to make all direct transactions fully digital through Floriday. This is an important step to make our industry future proof and more efficient. In addition, we realise that we are asking a lot of effort from everybody to ensure this change is a successful one. Luckily, we can count on much support and we can see that almost all parties have been busy, or still are. To ensure everyone has enough time to start working 100% Digital, we have announced a temporary leniency period.
Growers, buyers and agents, not yet ready to trade 100% Digital on 1 January 2021 can make use of a temporary leniency scheme. This temporary leniency scheme is aimed at growers, buyers and agents still waiting for the link with their software package, or situations where one party is already working 100% Digital, but the other party isn't yet.
Confirmation leniency period
Applying for this leniency period has taken place through the software suppliers. Software suppliers have now submitted the names of growers, buyers and agents who are eligible for the temporary leniency period until 31 March 2021. Growers, buyers and agents will receive confirmation per letter by the end of the year. Even if they are not going to make use of the leniency period. We will inform international customers per email by the end of the year.
What does this mean after 1 January?
For growers, buyers and agents, this means the following from 1 January 2021:
- Growers, buyers and agents, who are not yet able to make use of a working link between their software package and Floriday on 31 December 2020, will receive temporary leniency until 31 March 2021 at the latest. This way, it will be possible to continue to use the Connect-EAB until that time. After 31 March, the rates for the use of the Connect EAB will be increased.
- Growers, buyers and agents who will be working in the Floriday screens and/or already make use of the link, are urged to carry out their direct transaction through Floriday by 31 December 2020 and thus comply with 100% Digital.
- Nothing will change for growers, buyers and agents who only trade and buy through the clock.
100% Digital
With 100% Digital, we are taking the next step in the digital
transformation of the floriculture industry and achieving Royal
FloraHolland's objective of connecting growers and buyers in a
future-proof way, and in this way supporting them in the
sustainable growth of their business operations. 100% Digital helps
to indisputably and optimally comply with tighter European
financial legislation and regulations (PSD2). In this context,
Royal FloraHolland is taking additional measures and will carry out
additional checks on the correct use of the Connect-EAB until 31
March 2021 at the latest.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone again for
their understanding and cooperation in taking this step to '100%
Digital' together!
