Second party for environmental registration will be available soon
25 August 2020
Royal FloraHolland asks all suppliers to complete digital environmental registration by 31 December of this year at the latest. MPS is currently the only supplier to meet the set standards. However, a new partnership will soon change this.
GreenlinQdata and GLOBALG.A.P. are working on a comprehensive solution for the Netherlands and a number of other European countries. This will give growers like yourself a choice.
GLOBALG.A.P. will cooperate with existing farm-management systems and registration tools to fulfil the digital environmental registration requirement. In the Netherlands, this is being done first by registration tool GreenlinQdata. The parties are expected to announce their prices at the end of September and growers can begin the registration process this year.
GLOBALG.A.P. meets the requirements as well
In addition, GLOBALG.A.P. is working on a timely solution for growers for the requested environmental certification. The current GLOBALG.A.P. IFA certificate for Flowers and Ornamentals is aimed at demonstrating "responsible" production (Good Agricultural Practices). It is therefore not yet an environmental certificate for FSI requirements. This will change, however, as a result of the tightening of the environmental requirements. GLOBALG.A.P. will also introduce a separate environmental add-on module. At that point, GLOBALG.A.P. will, in conjunction with GreenlinQdata, provide a comprehensive solution for digital environmental registration and environmental certification.
MPS
The renewed MPS ABC 3.0 certificate currently already meets the requirements. MPS has lowered its rates for Dutch growers. A fee has been set for the first year's registration. A certification fee will apply in the second year - which MPS has reduced for growers with a small cultivation area in particular - along with a hectare surcharge.
International
We expect that GreenlinQdata and GLOBALG.A.P. will soon announce a solution for growers in Germany, Belgium, Italy and Spain as well. The tool will be translated and linked to the country-specific databases of crop protection products. GLOBALG.A.P. is also looking into cooperation with other registration tools or farm management systems for these other countries. We will let you know as soon as more is known about this.
