Members' Council: 100% Digital, will everyone be ready in time?24 August 2020
By the end of 2020, all transactions must be 100% Digital. Growers but also buyers still find it difficult to make the switch. An important signal for the Members' Council.
During the members' sessions and on other occasions, the Members' Council received many questions and concerns about Floriday and Insights. "We hear that people are starting, but stop just as hard. What they want to do, for example, is not yet working well in Floriday. It's a shame," says Steef Meewisse of Steef Meewisse Flowers and member of the Members' Council of Royal FloraHolland.
This kind of criticism from members was reason for the Members' Council to enter into discussion with the management of Floriday and Insights. "I'm not yet confident that everyone will be ready by the end of 2020," says Steef. The concerns the Members' Council has been receiving are mainly about user-friendliness, connection problems with different software packages and connecting buyers. Furthermore, there are still uncertainties on the grower's side as to what can and cannot be done with Floriday. Finally, retail growers are concerned about the visibility of retail data in Insights and Floriday.
Clear communication on timelines
These concerns have been shared with the team that is committed to 100% Digital. "We have pushed for clear communication on timelines. When does something work in practice and what doesn't work yet. Enough people to practically help growers and buyers to get all set up now, is also desperately needed."
"I am positive about the plan to send employees from the auction to the garden to help. Personally, I would also like it very much if someone came along. We need to give a helping hand to those growers who are not yet so digital savvy and to older growers. And especially the smaller growers, a serious group of members for our auction. It should remain attractive for them to be a member of our cooperative".
