The cut Anthurium Nationwide Auctioning Pilot will kick off on 3 September 2020
17 June 2020
Nationwide Auctioning is one of the focus points of Royal FloraHolland’s strategy. On Thursday 3 September 2020, we will start a Nationwide Auctioning pilot. Cut Anthurium is the first product group of the Nationwide Auctioning Pilot. All cut anthurium growers will participate in the pilot.
The pilot will be carried out with the current auction systems. These were not originally built for nationwide auctioning. The pilot is therefore not a representative test for the final situation. It can, however, teach us a lot! With this pilot, we are taking the first steps towards the alignment of certain aspects within the auction, such as one auction time for a product group and the number of prints. We will also test parts of our logistics services, such as transport between the locations. Even if this is a different location than where the products were supplied.
Follow-up steps
During the pilot, we will carry out measurements and follow the experiences of growers, buyers and our internal processes. Based on this, we will determine the follow-up steps to expand or adapt. We will also determine which follow-up steps are possible to adapt or extend the pilot. With this pilot, Royal FloraHolland is taking the first step towards nationwide auctioning.
The cut Anthurium Nationwide Auctioning Pilot will start on Thursday 3 September 2020 at 7.10 am at group clock C6 in Aalsmeer and Naaldwijk. In Rijnsburg, we will maintain the local clock during the pilot. Buyers in Rijnsburg will of course be able to purchase on the nationwide clock via KOA. During the pilot, Royal FloraHolland will handle the transport of the purchased products between our locations. It will do so for all locations.
