Product group Rose will start using the Fc588 on 29 June 2020
19 May 2020
The product group Rose will start using the Fc588 (and Fc598) from 29 June 2020 onward. This applies to both clock and Direct Trade. As a result, starting early June, even more growers will benefit from the efficient flower bucket Fc588.
With the introduction of the Fc588, we are responding to the increasing use of CC containers in the export trade, working on further sustainability by decreasing the amount of transport kilometres and ensuring a reduction in chain costs by improving the loading process. To make the new Fc588, we are recycling flower buckets that we no longer need.
Release for Rose
From Monday 29 June, Rose growers can also supply (both Clock and Direct trade) in the Fc588 (bucket) and/or Fc598 (support shelf). We introduced the Fc588 (and Fc598) in March 2019. Since then, 30 product groups have started using this packaging and more than 10 million units have already been put into circulation!
Heemskerk Flowers: "Limit transport costs with the Fc588"
The use of CC containers in the flower trade is growing due to the increase in direct and smaller transactions. Flower packaging should therefore fit on CC containers better. Royal FloraHolland introduced this in 2019 by using old VGB knowledge. "We're glad," says VGB secretary Dick van Bommel (Heemskerk Flowers in Rijnsburg). "Personnel costs used to be our biggest expense. Now transport costs are your biggest expense because customers place smaller orders and order more often. We like to limit these costs, and the new Fc588 helps us do that. We repackage a lot of trade in the Fc577 to limit volume. With the Fc588, this isn't necessary nearly as often. The Fc588 might be slightly less stable in the case of very tall flowers, but there are few of those. In short, we work more efficiently and more sustainably with the Fc588."
Issue of the Fc588/Fc598 will start on 22 June 2020
For Rose suppliers, the Fc588 and Fc598 will be available as of Monday 22 June 2020. The regulated issue will take place from our packaging locations in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk, Rijnsburg and Eelde, and at Rhein-Maas Auction and Plantion.
