Winners Glazen Tulp 2020
Five new products stood out in the past year. For this reason, the floriculture sector and our professional jury crowned them the winners of the Glazen Tulp award. The winners were chosen by the professional jury from a shortlist of five products per category.

An online voting round took place prior to this in November 2019, with the floriculture sector nominating approximately sixty products. On 16 January 2020, the companies behind these market introductions received their awards during Royal FloraHolland's New Year Event.

Successful new products
When is a market introduction truly innovative? That was the question we asked our professional jury, which consists of a broad group of Royal FloraHolland customers and other floriculture specialists. "A new product mainly has to stand out - not only in the eyes of subject specialists, but also in those of consumers. Does it correspond to recent home decoration trends, or themes such as sustainability and health? A slightly greener leaf may stand out to experts, but laymen might not care about this."
"That is why it is a good thing that every jury member looks at the nominated product with a view based on their own target group: from export and wholesaler to garden centre, supermarket and florist. Some products are innovative, but not interesting enough from a commercial point of view."
